Online Consulting Projects

Online Consulting Projects

Students will experience a range of sessions taught by high-caliber content experts, as well as mentors from prestigious world universities. In a small group setting, students will learn relevant knowledge, complete research, discuss with teammates, write a consulting report and finally present it to Keru’s client. Our client will be an NGO/NPO or social enterprise.

This impactful work will demonstrate that the students are in the process of solving a REAL problem by providing a REAL solution to our clients. Our students not only have a real demonstration of their knowledge but also new skillset to present to themselves, as well as university admission teams. It is a capstone project like no other!

ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
Eelite is an emerging producer of high-quality roasted eels from Fujian. Formally, it supplied high-quality eels to high-end restaurants in China. ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
Analyzing data is a crucial step in identifying where to focus resources and attention. While the UN SDG framework exists as a guidepost, most grassroots organizations do not have quality information on the holistic issue they are tackling. This project aims to generate insights and highlight trends of importance on social issues by drawing from online and public data sources using big data and data analytical methods.

UN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
8: Decent Work & Economic Growth
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Economic development in northeastern China is relatively stagnant compared with other parts of China, and reducing the poverty issue is still a big challenge for locals. Locals suffer from severe cold weather 8 months of the year and agribusiness in most of rural areas is constrained. Therefore, most farmers don't have opportunities to increase their income and remain poor. Fortunately, there are considerable amounts of wild natural resources in forests and wild bushes. For example, local blueberries grow wildly over the wetlands. Farmers and Longjiamai Food just realized that they can harvest these wild berries and make earnings by selling the berries or packaged berry products. However, they need professional guidance including market information and a business development plan. Keru students will develop a sales strategy after collecting data from local interviews and analytical research. What is more, students will design & execute a marketing campaign to promote wild berries.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
  • Knowledge: Learn about rural economic development and international commerce
  • Experience: Produce an international expansion plan for Longjiangmai’s berry products; experience farming
  • Real Understanding: Branding and customer segmentation of agricultural products; sustainable rural economic development

Now in their third year of operation, they seek to develop fundraising channels in order to continuously provide high quality programs that benefit left-behind children in the community. Keru will lead a team of professionals and students to find effective ways to raise funds for left-behind children as well as social awareness.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
