SCF sustainable community foundation

Sustainable Communities Foundation (SCF)
Chiang Mai, Thailand

The Sustainable Communities Foundation (SCF) started in 2008 when a group of friends from Thailand and Australia formed the Dai Dai Dai team to help the village of Huai Wad with its water shortage problem. The team then undertook a project at Pong Hai. After completing these projects successfully, it was agreed that there were many more villages to help and that the team should form a foundation in Thailand to enable funds to be raised for future projects. The foundation was formally registered in early 2012. All funds raised go into the purchase of materials for projects. All administration is done by volunteers. The main focus of the foundation is to help disadvantaged communities improve their water supply and water quality. The foundation assists with developing alternative agricultural methods and business opportunities to improve family incomes, which in many cases is $5 a day. We also assist with providing education opportunities where possible.
