SHANGHAI SUNRISE
Shanghai, China

In China, education is not free after 9th grade, leaving thousands of low-income families without access to education. Those who cannot afford to educate their children are deprived of providing their children opportunities for future success and social mobility. In Shanghai alone, more than 40,000 students do not have the means to pay for high school or college. Shanghai Sunrise hopes to close the gap between low-income families and accessible education and collects private donations from individuals and civic and corporate organizations to cover tuition expenses for Shanghai students to ensure their success. Over the past 20 years, Shanghai Sunrise has contributed significantly to Shanghai education with scholarships for about 400 students per year. They hope to grow to support 500 students each year.

COLLABORATION WITH KERU

Keru began working with Shanghai Sunrise in Summer 2019. In these programs, Keru students worked to improve Shanghai Sunrise's data management, created marketing materials, and implemented new marketing strategies.
